Feline Friends Collection by The Red House for Michael Miller
Feline Friends was the debut collection for Michael Miller Fabrics by The Little Red House.
This fun panel has 8 different panes with images of cats getting up to all sorts of mischief. Showing playful cats driving taxis, getting tangled in balls of wool, playing with mice, and snoozing in a teacup. They are sometimes surprised, sometimes happy, but always playful. There is even a little mouse getting in on the action by sailing in a little boat.
93% of people say that owning a pet makes them happy. Whilst these are not real cats they sure make me smile.
I love panels as they are but even more so when they can be used in numerous ways. For instance, this panel could be used in full and quilted by hand or machine with or without a border. The panel could also be cut in half to have two smaller pieces to work with.
Furthermore, you could cut the individually designed pieces out and make these into a quilt project. Then add more fabrics or by adding some sashing, they would make fabulous cushions, especially by using the printed border. The printed border is tiny cat paw prints on a light blue background. Likewise, the striped borders running along the edges could be used as embellishments or for a bag or satchel maybe.
Conversely, as well as quilting, one of the smaller pieces would be great for an embroidery project. For example, embellish the key parts of the design with stitch, beads, buttons or anything else that takes your imagination.
By the way, the panel can be matched with the double border or Hello Cats panel and would look great covering a canvas or put in a picture frame for your home.
Where would one of these look absolutely great in your home?
