What is fear?
Firstly, My wisdom, commonly called Amanda, my wife says these type of posts should NOT be political. I am a political animal so of course, on this occasion I have ignored the wisdom of Amanda.
What is Fear?
Of course fear is something we all have and exhibit from time to time. The type of fear I am exploring here is maybe a different type of FEAR. Fear of the unknown.
Age.
Forgive my generalisation but quilters tend to be women over 55. Of course, I am a man writing this although I am over 55. But women tend to be more responsible. More of a planner than men and certainly more cautious, and that got me thinking about Fear.
Stash.
Quilters and in general sewers like to refresh their “stash” regularly. They don’t really know what they will do with the new fabric but it’s nice to hold, stroke, think about and, maybe eventually it will get used…. one day. Until then it will get put back into the box, cupboard, wardrobe for now.
Change.
Come 2024 and we had a General Election. Regardless of your own political make up and beliefs, as a country we had to get rid of the Tories. Everyone knew that including the Tories and all commentators. It’s not my job here to say who you should have voted for or why except to say that at certain times the government needs to be changed for one with fresh ideas, that are a bit more believable, more honest and worthwhile. A government that will listen to the people that will elect them for up to 5 years in power without a recourse to the election box.
Labour.
So Labour were duly elected with a thumping landslide of a majority and straight away they got into the typical slagging off the Tories. It was their fault, they left no money, they didn’t cost projects and honest guv, we had nothing to do with it says Labour.
