WOW !! What an event.
We chose the weekend of the worst weather to hit the UK for ages to drive 200+ miles to the Birmingham NEC for a trade show. The dirve down was really good. The weather was wet and there was the odd gust of wind but that was all. We were not looking forward to the drive as the bad weather forcasts, the schools braking up for half term, the number of miles to drive and a hotel we have not slept in could easily have seen us not leave Quilting Towers at all but left we did.
The traffic was light so many must have headed the warnings and Costa provided breaks on the motorway. Having said that DO NOT go to Costa on a motorway service station. I fell on the floor at one price asked for, over £23 for 2 flat whites, 2 cakes and a 2 packets of crisps. Aparently EVERY product sold on the motorway is at lease 98 p dearer than an ordinary Costs. I feel a whinge coming on.
Anyway the show was stupendous. So many favourite fabric and tool suppliers all in one place to ogle at and spend pennies, well lots of pounds with really. Also many new suppliers who we did not know about… but we do now and they have our money…
Our website should be up by the weekend, at least it is promised for then so this is a brilliant start to our new premises.
New premises did I hear you say? Yes, unit 17 was too small even at 550 sq ft so we are now in unit 4 which is about 750sq ft… to fill with fabric..
