Description
Cashmere by Sanderson is a collection from Sanderson Design Group Plc an international luxury interior furnishings company that designs, makes and sells wallpapers and fabrics. The origins of Sanderson Designs were started by Arthur Sanderson & Sons in 1860. In 2003 Sandersons acquired Morris & Co. and other historic brands.
The first cautious steps to becoming the Sanderson Design Group were taken in 1940, with the acquisition of the Arts and Crafts movement pioneer, and Morris & Co. Founded within one year of each other (1861 and 1860 respectively), Sanderson and Morris & Co. are historically intertwined giants of British interior design.

The original blocks for William Morris’s wallpaper designs were included in the purchase of Jeffrey & Co. When Morris & Co. was dissolved in 1940, Sanderson and Sons bought its wallpaper business and rights to use the Morris name. Today, those archives are held by the parent company Sanderson Design Group. The collection is held in Denham, Buckinghamshire, and is regularly used by the current designers, although it is not on public display.
Amanpuri
In the colours of Old Gold and Aubergine, Amanpuri is an exquisite fabric from Cashmere by Sanderson, taking inspiration from the 1920s interpretation of Jacobean embroidery design, block printed onto Linen. The word Amanpuri means ‘place of peace’ in Sanskrit and is perfectly depicted in this fabric. It shows a stylised trail of leaves and flowers and has been designed to capture the inky richness of the block print texture.
