Lawn is a fine plain weave textile made with fine-combed or carded cotton. It is a lightweight sheer cloth that is crisper than voile but not as crisp as organza. The Lawn finish is applied to a variety of fine plain or printed fabrics.
Lawn is designed using fine high thread count yarns which gives a silky, soft and untextured feel. When made with either combed or carded yarns and has a soft feel and slight luster, it is known as nainsook.
Lawn has a lovely drape and with it being a lightweight fabric it is perfect for dresses, blouses or shirts. As it is also slightly transparent and light it is perfect for those balmy summer days and nights.
Sold as long fat quarters unless otherwise stated on order.
