Felix the Fox Applique Quilt by Delphine Brooks

Learn how to make Felix Applique Quilt using raw edge applique with a step-by-step guide pattern by Delphine Brooks.  This is an easy-to-make project that could be used for many different applications with the final finished work.

It would make a fabulous wall hanging, playmat, child’s changing mat, or a throw quilt to sit on when you have a picnic.  Also, it is a good way to learn raw edge applique, or as refresher course for raw edge applique.

It would also be a great way to use up your own scraps, maybe batiks or even charm squares leftovers. How many felix the fox projects could you get out of a layer cake? Therefore, a layer cake with 42 pieces of 10” fabric would yield many, many projects.

There are loads of different variations for Felix.  For example, use what ever colours you want for Felix himself.  Similarly, why not use the Trapunto technique or pad out bits of Felix such as his nose or bits of his fur. This will use up old bits of wadding or stuffing that you may have laying around.

Felix would look fantastic embellished by embroidering into him and emphasising his fur or whiskers.
